Chocolate Rolls aka Rugalach | Sweet Rolls

Delicious, fluffy and buttery chocolate rolls that will make people fall in love with you lol.

TIME: 2 hours & 20 mins | oven: 350F

1/2 stick unsalted melted butter

2 eggs (save a little for the egg wash)

1/2 cup warm milk

1/2 sugar

2 1/2 cups flour

1 pack active yeast (2 tablespoons)

1/2 stick unsalted butter

2 tablespoons coco powder

1 tablespoon nutella/ chocolate spread of choice

In a big bowl incorporate all of the dry ingredients (including the yeast) and mix mix mix. Make a little hole in the middle and start adding your wet ingredients. A few things to keep in mind: make sure your milk and butter are WARM and not HOT! Once everything is mix together you will start seeing a dough. Feel free to use your hands (it's more fun that way). Once your dough is super smooth put it in a ball, cover and let rest for about 2 hours.

After 2 hours pre heat your oven to 350F and let's make the filling in a small bowl add your soft butter, coco powder and chocolate spread and mix until you get a cream consistency. Uncover your dough and punch it (the best part). Roll it out until super thin (add flour is needed). Once super thin spread your filling all over and fold in half. Rolls out again until super thin and start cutting into strips. Rolls out your rolls and place in a pan. Spread the egg wash all over and bake for about 25-30 minutes. Once ready it is optional to add simple syrup (sugar and water boiled). Add glitter and enjoy!
