Birthday Cake (Yellow Cake)
We all have the ideal “go-to” cake recipe when we need to bake a cake for someone, right? Well, at least I do. So here is a recipe that will make the most delicious cake.
I’m posting the recipe in grams because it’s the most accurate for it.
Prep Time:15 minutes
Cook Time:40-50 minutes
Total Time:1 hour and 5 minutes
- 221g all purpose flour
- 272g cake flour
- 17g baking powder
- 476g sugar
- 6g salt
- 250g butter
- 187g eggs
- 545g milk
- 6g vanilla
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F(176C)
Mix room temperature butter, sugar & salt in a mixing bowl.
Once you get a creamy/ fluffy consistency add your dry ingredients (the flour, cake flour, and baking powder).
Look out for a sand like texture and add a little bit of your milk and eggs. (Not all at once). Keep going until you get this silky light consistency.
Once the batter is all done, it’s up to you if you would like to add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to make it a bit chocolatey. (if not, skip this step).
Add the batter into an oiled baking pan and bake until completely cooked and a toothpick will come out clean.
Once the cake is cool completely, you can either cut it to get two layers or keep it whole.
Decorate for your liking (I used a normal buttercream recipe and assembled it all once it was completely cooled!!!) and enjoy!
