Homemade Cinnamon Toast Cereal
Here is a breakdown of my homemade Cinnamon Toast Cereal Recipe. It’s easy, fun and better for you.
Servings:4 servings
Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:12 minutes
Total Time:30 minutes
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 cold sticks of butter (unsalted)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup cold water
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup butter room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 tablespoons cinnamon
Instructions:
For the dough: In a big bowl, mix your flours, cinnamon, sugar, salt. Mix so it’s all combined and add your cubed cold butter.
Start mixing using your hands until a sand like texture. Add the wet ingredients (vanilla and water). Mix using your hands until you have a dough.
Once you have a dough, roll it out, spread your butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture. Shape into your squares (I recommend making them small since they grow in size while baking).
Place your squares on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 350F for about 12-15 minutes or until darker in color and crispy.
Add your squares into a cereal bowl add your favorite milk and glitter and enjoy!
