Honey Cake
The jewish new year is around the corner and what is a better recipe than a honey cake that doesn’t really taste like honey?? ;)
This recipe is SO easy! I like using my mixer but it is optional!
Prep Time:15 minutes
Cook Time:40-50 minutes
Total Time:1 hour and 5 minutes
- 1 stick of unsalted butter
- 2/3 cups honey
- 2 eggs
- 5 tablespoons of milk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch of salt
- + cup of crushed pecans (optional but recommended!!)

1 tablespoon sour cream

1/3 cup honey

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F(176C)
Mix room temperature butter, honey in mixing bowl.
Once you get a creamy/ fluffy consistency add your eggs
Once the eggs are fully incorporated, add your milk while mixing.
Once the batter is all done, it’s time to add your flour, baking powder and salt + crush up the pecans and add them into your batter. (save a bit for decorating the cake at the end).
Fold in your pecans & you're ready to add the batter into an oiled baking pan and bake until completely cooked and a toothpick will come out clean.
Once the cake is cool completely, it's time to make the frosting! Of course this is optional- you can also just sprinkle it with powdered sugar and enjoy!
Frosting: in a mixing bowl, add your soft butter and honey and mix until light and fluffy.
Add the powdered sugar and a tiny bit of salt (trust me) and your buttercream is ready.
Once the cake is COMPLETELY cooled, you can frost it, drizzle some honey for decoration and some pecans.
Cut and serve and happy new year! xx
