Matcha Pound Cake

July 16, 2024

If you like matcha, this recipe is for you!! It’s fast, easy and soooo good. So what are you waiting for?? Let’s go!

**I do recommend using a mixer for this recipe**

Prep Time:20 minutes

Cook Time:1 hour

Total Time:1 hour and 20 minutes

Ingredients for the cake:
  • 1 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter room temperature (12 tablespoons)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 2/3 cup cake flour (important!!)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons matcha powder

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350F(176C)

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, add the butter, and sugar and mix until fluffy.

Step 3

Add your eggs and milk mix until combined.

Step 4

Time for dry ingredients. Add your cake flour, baking powder and salt and mix until JUST combined. Do not over mix it!!

Step 5

Time to make a matcha paste: add the matcha powder, a tiny bit of water (watch my tiktok video to see how I do it exactly) and whisk with a matcha whisk or a frothier. You should soon enough, have a thick paste of matcha.

Step 7

Take about 3/4 cup of the batter and mix in your matcha paste together until you have a green batter.

Step 8

Butter your pan (I like to use my leftover butter wax paper to oil the pan). Add your white batter as a layer and swirl in your green batter. keep going until you don't have any more batter left.

Step 9

Bake your loaf for about an hour or until a toothpick is coming out clean after poking, and enjoy!
