Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

You can use any kind of cookie for the base! Try my THE BEST Chocolate chip cookies recipe or grab your frozen cookie dough! :)

**mixer / hand mixer is recommended for this recipe**

Prep Time:5 minutes

Cook Time:15-20 minutes

Total Time:25 minutes

Ingredients for icing:
  • 1 cup - 2 sticks of unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vanilla paste or extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream (if needed) 
  • Optional: melt 1 bar of dark chocolate or ½ semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F (176C)

Step 2

Grab your frozen or non frozen scooped cookie dough and place on a squared baking pan (I like to place parchment paper for easy cleaning)

Step 3

Bake for 15-20 minutes (until golden)

Step 4

In a mixing bowl or using a hand mixer and start creaming the butter until lighter in color

Step 5

Add your powder sugar, vanilla extract and salt and mix until you have a smooth but thick consistency (if too thick add cream, one tablespoon at a time)

Step 6

Make sure your cookies are completely cooled and start spreading the frosting on top

Step 7

Optional is to melt some chocolate and drizzle it on top

Step 8

Cut into squares and it’s ready to be served
